Tooth Fairy Sign

My 7 year old finally has a loose tooth! He has been protecting it for a least a week. Last night I flossed his teeth to get them really clean (he has not wanted to brush around the loose tooth) and found out that he had TWO very loose teeth! Then I realized that I did not have a tooth fairy pillow, or spot for him to put his tooth when he lost it. That means the tooth fairy has no where to leave a coin....

So what did I decide to do? Why, of course...... I made him one. It could not be girly because it is for my boy and will be used by my other boy. I wanted them both to like it, so out to the garage I went with a vision in my head.

Supplies:
Wood
Stain
Paper for printer
Pencil for transfer
Paint for words on sign
Fabric for little pouch
Eye hooks for hanging
Staple Gun
Jute/twine/string
Glue Gun
Saw

COST:
FREE (I had everything I needed in my garage)

STEPS: 1. Cut wood to size.

2. Sand.

3. Stain wood. TIP: I put a nail in the top to hold it while I stained the entire thing - front and back. Then I hung it to dry.

4. Print "Tooth Fairy" in Microsoft Word. I used American Typewriter font and size was 95.

5. Trace the letters on the back of paper with a very sharp pencil. I hold it up to my front door to do this. You could use a light box.

6. Lay paper with letters lined up and rub the side of pencil all over the image.

7. Paint where your pencil lines are.

8. Sand a little when dry.
9. Screw in eye hooks to top.
10. Create fabric pouch for tooth and money, or whatever your tooth fairy leaves, to go. Staple to wood sign.

11. Cover staples with twine using glue gun. Make Twine handle and wait for tooth to fall out!

Can't wait to use this......
